This study aims to analyze netizen responses in the TikTok comments section regarding the assault case of a man at the Sibolga Grand Mosque, which has attracted widespread public attention. This study seeks to understand how digital communities express their moral, emotional, and religious views regarding the violence that occurred in a sacred space. The study used a qualitative approach with a content analysis method of comments contained in posts on official media accounts such as Metro TV, Kompas.com, and Kumparan. Data were collected through digital observation and screenshot documentation, then analyzed descriptively using the Miles and Huberman model. The results show that most netizens responded in the form of condemnation, moral outrage, and empathy for the victim, accompanied by reflections on the humanitarian values and social function of the mosque. However, cynical and discriminatory comments were also found, indicating the potential for social polarization in the digital space. Based on the Stimulus–Organism–Response (SOR) theory, videos of violent cases act as stimuli that trigger public emotional reactions (responses) after going through a process of interpreting moral and religious values (organisms). This study confirms that TikTok has now become a public moral space that reflects society's collective awareness of religious and humanitarian issues in the digital era.
